These are some illustrations I did for the book Nanoscale. They are 3D renderings of atomic-scale models. First pictures the epitaxial growth of iridium-gallium nitride crystal, used in blue LEDs. Second is the mineral perovskite morphing into a super-conductor. Third is the crystal structure of gold. The fourth is a regular human-scale view of a Penrose tiled floor. There are over 50 such illustrations throughout the book. Nanoscale was published in the spring of 2009 by The MIT Press.
